Sustainable design, construction and building industry sector are now invited to enter their projects into the Victorian Premier's Sustainability Awards and share their achievements.
Entries are now open for businesses, organisations, state and local government and individuals who are leading the way in innovative sustainable construction.
The Melbourne School of Design (MSD) at the University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus, finalist in the Built Environment category in the 2015 Premier's Sustainability Awards is a state-of-the-art academic facility, setting a new standard for design education. The building facilitates collaborative interdisciplinary engagement and the critical exploration of complex built environment issues.

Embedded in the design is a commitment to sustainability and green architecture. The MSD building has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star Design - Education Design v1 rating by the Green Building Council of Australia and it was the first education facility to be awarded the maximum 10 Green Star innovation credits.
There are 10 award categories in the 2016 Premier's Sustainability Awards, many of which are relevant to built environment and infrastructure projects, both large and small:

- Environmental Justice
- Environmental Protection
- Government
- Health
- Innovative Products or Services
- Large Business
- Small and Medium Enterprises.
