The NatHERS Administrator has released a statement on its website regarding the cessation of mandatory windows training for energy assessors. The statement reads as follows:
On 14 September 2020, the NatHERS Steering Committee (the Energy Efficiency Advisory Team) agreed to the cessation of mandatory windows training for energy assessors.
This means that windows training provided by the Australia Fenestration Rating Council (AFRC) is no longer mandatory in order for assessors to access the Custom Window Library in NatHERS Software Tools.
The NatHERS Administrator will continue to work with registered training organisations, Assessor Accrediting Organisations and the AFRC to encourage the development of further specialised glazing training which may, for example, be offered as continuing professional development to assessors, builders and certifiers.
As a result of this decision, the next release of Firstrate5 (i.e. FR5 v5.3.1 (3.21)) will no longer require a user to enter an AFRC certificate number to access the custom window library.
In the meantime, users that do not already have an AFRC custom windows certificate number can use the following generic certificate number with any existing versions of FirstRate5 - 7CFJm9ZNeA
