FirstRate5® house energy rating software

FirstRate5® is an easy-to-use interactive tool with a graphic user interface that enables designers and thermal performance assessors to generate energy ratings for a home by tracing over floor plans. The software integrates the AccuRate calculation engine to estimate the annual heating and cooling energy and can be used to rate an existing design or as an interactive tool to optimise the design beyond compliance.

    FirstRate5 v5.2.5 (3.13) is now available as a free download from www.fr5.com.au. SV recommends that all users upgrade to this version. The only change included in this version is an updated AFRC custom windows and roof windows library.

  • Release of FR5 v5.2.4a (3.13)

    FirstRate5 v5.2.​4a (3.13) is now available as a free download from www.fr5.com.au.This version is a minor bug fix release. SV recommends that all users upgrade to this version. This bug fix version addresses an issue some users were experiencing with custom windows when upgrading project files completed in previous versions of the software to FirstRate5 v5.2.4 (3.13). FirstRate5 v5.2.4 (3.13) was not recognising some custom windows and assessors were required to manually respecify these windows.

  • Problem with Custom Windows in FirstRate5 v5.2.4 (3.13) – bug fix version to be released

    It has come to Sustainability Victoria attention that some assessors are experiencing problems with custom windows when upgrading project files completed in previous versions of the software to FirstRate5 v5.2.4 (3.1.3). The latest version of software is not recognising some custom windows and assessors are having to manually respecify windows after opening existing project files in FirstRate5 v5.2.4 (3.13). Sustainability Victoria is currently rectifying the problem and a bug fix version will be released in the coming days.
